Programmer's mind, thinking and brain are far better than soccer.
Programmer's output adding many values to human being.
World without programmers will be nothing, in other side: soccer is not important.

What we are gaining from soccers! only entertainment!

Why Soccer's salary are far better than programmer's salary?

NOTICE: I'm a fan of Real Madrid so much :)

I am very shocked at how distorted your perception is.
In short: the average salary of a programmer is many times higher than the average salary of a football player.
You are just focused on the highest paid footballers.
If you really want to watch the highest paid, then compare them to the highest paid 'programmers'.

For example according to Celebrity Net Worth:
- Lionel Messi ~ $600 million.
- Cristiano Ronaldo ~ $500 million.

investopedia.com:
- Bill Gates ~ $124 billion
- Mark Zuckerberg ~ $97 billion.
with the B!

95% of professional players you will never see on TV.
They have poor wages and the question is what will happen to their lives after 35 years of age.
In contrast a decent programmer has a decent salary everywhere in the world and the occupation is pretty secure.

But BG and MZ are no longer (or needed to be) programmers. Not sure how much M$ paid people like Scott Hanselman and Guido van Rossum.

That's why I put them in quotes ('programmers').
But their beginning was like that.
Neither are Messi and Ronaldo footballers. In the beginning they were. Now they are brands...

You know Ryan Kaji become Millionaire (Net Worth $160 Million) just playing his toys all day long and has his own brand? Not to mention his parents are also earning a lot too. This guy just 9 years old.

I didn’t know... but things like that don’t surprise me. It amazes me when someone then concludes generally children who play with toys earn more than programmers.
This is actually a good example to calculate the average. The other 500 million children earn nothing. So on average a child playing with toys earns $ 0.3 :)

I believe different people have different perspective and interpretation on a certain topic. We as programmer who tend to think of solutions to problems should have also think of ways to achieve something out of the box. Money is just one of the tools that we want to get in our life. There are many other things that are also important like health, love, family and our passion. Sorry for talking like a monk. ?

I think engineers are probably the ones who deserve top ranking. Unfortunately the result of true engineering simply get's taken for granted and in some parts of the world which should know better, someone who repairs your climate control system feels they can call themselves an engineer. Without the silent effort, Ingenuity (the French word for engineer being more appropriately derived) and the disciplined application of science and mathematics (=engineering) we wouldn't even be past the stone ages, let alone have facilities and instruments for doctors or arenas for footballers - or computers for programmers :)

Elon Musk is a C++ programmer. He seems to be doing alright for himself.

Although rumours are he made his money from other activities than coding.

Bottom line is you need to remember that in this world, people aren't rewarded financially for how useful their job is. There's many factors involved, but a simple one is the more people who support you, the more you earn, i.e. a pop star earns millions if they have millions of fans, a doctor has a few hundred patients so they earn less. If a programmer releases a program that is bought by millions of users, then they get to be a millionaire too (good example would be Flappy Bird, or five nights at freddies)

And next question is why all of us chose to be programmers or work to computers industry.
so i could learn to program all those ARM and other devises inside those Ferrraaaariiiis, Varons, Porches, and a bunch of the other toys that bunch play with. [Oi, that makes us sound like the best enablers on the planet.] the question, then, becomes - who is having more fun?
