Soft Power Button Detection

Is there any way to detect if the soft power button has been pressed ?

I want to start a timer in Activity_Create when the FirstTime variable is true, and then stop the timer when the soft power button is pressed.

You cannot intercept the power button press.

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve (and I don't think that starting a timer when FirstTime is true will give you the results you want). If you give more information then there might be a different solution.
