SoftPhone

Hi all,
I'd like your advice on a simple and dependable softphone app.
My requirements are very basic: just phone calls (no need for chat/videocalls/multiple calls..), registering at least a couple of accounts (it's ok if only one of them is registered at any time).
Until yesterday I used Zoiper (ver. 1.38) but installing the new version (ver. 5) on a new Android 7 device it limits itself to 1 account (unless you buy the Pro version).
I used Peoplefone's app too, but they limit it to their accounts (and, again, just one of them).

Since there are tens of sotphones' app out there, I tought it was bettere to ask here instead of experimenting with them all.. :)

TIA

I use Sipdroid in Android (allows 2 accounts) and MicroSip in my computers which (MicroSip) can be placed on a USB and have your phone with you in every computer.

Hmmm... never had to think about it because my cell provider has WIFI calling as a service and the dialler will show that its connected to WIFI so uses that as the preference. I guess you're sure that your SPs don't have that available (which is a bit surprising for me that they don't). So, with my provider I don't have to redirect to VOIP etc.. If I need to do things from the PC I use Jitsi - but that's rare. I don't do international calls so not sure if the WIFI calling will do that anyway - maybe I'll phone you one day to test it (after I've beefed up the overdraft at the bank in case).

@rabbitBUSH : thanks for your comments. It's indeed used for international calls.
When I'm abroad I like to let friends and customers call on what is a local number for them. My only requirement is to be connected to a WiFi or have an active data plan with the service provider from the country hosting me.
I'll soon test SipDroid as suggested by @hatzisn

During the recent lockdown I used and liked Jitsi. A friend even installed a copy on one of his servers. Everything worked flawlessly.
