Android Question [SOLVED] Does ExoPlayer have a method to prevent controls disappearing/appearing on successive taps?

I've noticed that the ExoPlayer controls in my project disappear when I tap outside the control area and then reappear when I tap again. They also disappear when I tap right on the time indicators. Is there an easy way to prevent this other than adding transparent panels? I don't see any obvious methods.
