Android Question Subject: Ellipsizing and Marquee text

I tried the code snippet of Ellipsizing and Marquee text and see that at the marquee there is no scrolling. Why?

How did you implement it?

I tried the test project from the forum and the marquee works.
Attached a small mp4 showing it.

I launched both on tablet Android 5.1 and Galaxy S7 Android 7.0. On both Marquee doesn't move

It works OK on both of mine Galaxy S6 Android 7.0 and tablet Galaxy Tab2 Android 7.0.
I tested it also on an Emulator with Android 4.4.2 and it works OK too.
So sorry, but I don't know why it doesn't work on your devices.
