B4R Question UNO and Mega USB drivers

Hello,
I have an UNO data logger application connected to PC, should I install full Arduino IDE on PC to make PC talk to VCOM port? is there separate USB driver package for UNO and Mega, where to download it or how to install it separately?

There are different models of uno with different usb-serial converters. I don't know if that article applies to all of them. But the article also says that in Windows 10 the drivers are included. Maybe that you also can find the drivers in the zip file of the "arduino ide portable", that does not need to be installed (the ide runs from the unzipped files).

I downloaded Arduino Portable IDE 1.8.2 it includes drivers folder and old drivers compressed archive, for download, click 'Windows ZIP file for non admin install' will test it tomorrow

I followed tutorial on post #2, it worked OK. Please note that I had to download Arduino Portable IDE to get drivers folder.
