Android Question USB Debugging Problem

Okay, I am a beginner and have followed some tutorials to set up the basic4android software and also created few simple programs. I had done this in USB Debugging mode, wherein I could see where the buttons are placed on my connected android phone in real time, and then I could adjust them the way I like. But a couple of weeks later, that is now, from the designer window, when I double click on the status, it doesn't get connected and no error also pops up.
I tried launching an emulator and then connecting it to it, that worked fine. I also tried to see if the drivers needed an update, they too were up to date. The weird thing is that, when I have my phone connected in USB debugging mode as well as have the emulator running, I get an option to select which device I want to connect, but if I select my phone, nothing happens. And yeah, on my phone, the B4A Designer app is launched, but no layouts are displayed and the status of the designer window on my PC returns to disconnected.
So, someone please suggest me something, as otherwise I have to compile and run my app everytime to see where exactly on the screen my buttons and labels are placed.

-Abhimanyu.

It is hard to say. Have you checked the unfiltered logs for any error messages?

Have you tried to use B4A-Bridge instead?

Note that a real device is not really required for the designer. You should build the layout with the help of the designer script and make it scale well on all devices. You can use the UI Cloud to test it on multiple devices.
