Who is Basic4Android really for?

Hi group.

I have discovered AppInventor by Google and have been experimenting with it with admirable success.

I am a moderately accomplished Website developer (via HTML editors). I have no OOP or Java programming.

While I am starting to feel comfortable with AppInventor and its "Block Coding" concept, it has its limitations.

Is it possible to become a proficient Android App developer using Basic4Android just by reading the beginners manual or do I need formal training in C++ or some other OOP language?

Yeah, that's what I've been doing all alone with the above error. Even after restarting the ADB Sever I get the Daemon still not running error.

[Solved]

OK guys,

I've figured it out I believe.

Right click on the B4A program > Click on Properties > Click on Compatibility folder > Change compatibility mode to the platform you are working on; in my case it's Win7 and the default is/was WinXP service pack 3.

I was able to connect successfully to the emulator and an HTC/Inspire for a decent amount of time so I am airborne now.
