Access Phone FM Radio

Hi folks,

Is there anyway to access the FM radio inside an android phone, switch it on and tune it etc?

old post I know but I just wondered...

how can we create an FM radio app then like any phone has by default?

As Erel mentioned above, there's no FM Radio API, but, there are some proprietary and some open source (at least they claim that) API's or libraries, like THIS one, but, what I know is that most FM radio apps are manufacturer dependent, at least it seems to me.

ok, if it will only work on my and a handful of other devices I better forget about it then
