Android Question activity menu

Not sure why it isn't displayed on my phone? Maybe because there is no physical button for menu, but my tablet has a menu button.

I guess I need to include the title bar for the menu to appear.

This is the answer.
Android will only add the three dots button if there is no hardware button.

I've got the app set to full screen and no title. I don't see 3 dots on my phone.

The three dots button is added to the action bar (title). It will not be there if there is no action bar.

@Erel is there any way to have a button that would mimic this action bar button if the action bar itself isnt present?

I'm not sure of the question but I think there is a hardware Menu button.
At the bottom of your phone there should be 3 buttons, Home, Return and the third button that is Menu on my phone. If the third button on your phone isn't Menu, try a Long_click on that button. That should bring up the Menu.

Hardware menu buttons were depreciated a long time ago. Newer Android devices do not have a menu button.

@Cara Mac - I believe you are looking for Activity.OpenMenu which you can call from any event
