Android Question addmenuitem3 and android version

Hi,
Almost promoting my app to production and...
I decided to replace all my activity buttons by addmenuitem3, cool but now I realize that in android 2.3.3 there are no menu items in the title bar.
From what android version does this work?
Any way to fix it?

The Action bar is available in Android 4.0+. However your app will work on older versions as well. The buttons will appear as regular menu items.

You mean in 2.3.3 they appears when the user press the device menu button? well... it is not happening, nothing appears.

Yes. If it doesn't work then please create a small project that demonstrates it and upload the project.
