Any hint on having a faster compilation in debugging mode?

As some projects get bigger and bigger, debugging mode takes more and more time to compile. This unfortunately is counterproductive. Any hints on how to make it faster? If of course there's something we can do as end users.

Currently 2 of my apps take around 230-270 secs to compile.
