I'd like to see a Road map for the anywhere line of products. It could help people make better decisions whether or not to invest/stay with anywhere.

Hi Erel,

Sorry to post about this interesting subject so late. I was with a client.

Do not get me wrong please, this is only a question. The Android market is slowly but surely saturating. Now we see that you give B4J a wonderful tool that could open up new markets.
At the same time, all the proposals that we have for a tool that would allow us to create for Windows Phone and iOS are denied.

Hence my question: what do you see as innovation in the medium term? Do you have any ideas about this?

Thank you in advance

The original question or request is a bit problematic from my point of view. I don't like to promise things that are not certain.

What I can promise is that Basic4android and B4J will continue to be developed and improved.

I don't think that the Android market is saturated. Android is the new "Windows". Maybe Google Play is saturated but the demand for custom Android applications is only growing.

There is no doubt that many many customers are waiting for B4I. This is definitely something that may happen in the future.
A project such as this one http://www.robovm.org/ makes it more feasible...

Thanks a lot Erel for the clarification. It is always good to feel Anywhere Software so close to its customers :)

It is true that Android is tomorrow's Windows and, just like the laptops are replacing desktops, smartphones
are replacing laptops..
I hope Apple will play fair game and doesn't brake their iOS code to exclude poor individual developers.. and this
will be for the benefit of the company because the rule of time is OPEN SYSTEMS. any closed or propitiatory system will
have no place in tomorrow's world. We can clearly see the forerunners of the upcoming generation.

"This is definitely something that may happen in the future."

Does this mean you are actively investigating this possibility right now?

Android market saturated?

Two days ago I read an article (in Italian) about an increase in sales of Android devices by 42% over the previous year and reached almost a billion!

I agree: Android in the mobile world is what Windows is to PCs, but .... best ;)

Hi erel
Maybe there is a way to make "basic for html5" , then it can run on ios as html file, and fit to b4a webview.

Nope : saturated for pro developers. Sorry if you have another experience but mine is that was easy to sell 10 K€ yesterday is slowly decreasing in price now. My own opinion about and my own experience only

I probably was not clear enough. If you have some good ideas you could make some money of course. My primary target are companies wanting to have their apps developed. Not selling apps to end users. And perhaps our markets are different too (I am French selling in France).
I wish you a good good luck and I am sure you will enjoy btw

I thought you were talking of the global market, let's call it.

If you mean that companies already have all their software adapted to the times, that is, with the mobile, I trust you, but I know Italy and Italians, many companies here definitely still use a lot of paper and pen!

LOL. In fact when I started they were two types of clients: the big which will buy to big agencies and middle-small companies whose weren't able to spend a lot to have their apps created.
It was easy to push a door and be welcomed like a "genius". Proposing a simple app at 15 K€ for a company with 2/3 shops was easy. Now the major difficulties is to prove I am better in price that the son of the house who learned to create code. With 20 years of coding behind me I am sure I am. But proposing an estimate is now always a big deal. I should go to Italy (so nice country with really nice women :))

This is happening in informatics in general: as an employee, my company required for (€60/€80) / hour for my "performances", now it would require for 20 € (if the big boss had not combined mess, after more than 20 years and the company had not had to close - not for failure!)

(French women are beautiful and fascinating too! ;))
