App name

Almost only to waste time, as always I do, stupid man...

1) What should I use:

AppMix

or

MixApp

(or MultiApp)?

as name for an app which is not an app but X number of apps in one?

I will take some of my old and poorly made apps (never published) and will join them in a single one.
The main reason for this mix is that the various Ad Networks do not pay consistently.

2) Also, I saw many apps having the same name: does not this violate the conditions imposed from Google Play?

I would suggest something which shows what the app actually does.
Like office toolbox or retro game collection or writing & drawing.

You're right but the "nice" aspect is that those apps have nothing in common between them :D

I'm thinking to publish bad stuff (before or after of my amazing app :p) and group 3 or 4 apps in one:

AppsBox One
AppsBox Two
...

If a user needs or wants only one app of the box, he must install all (maybe just for curiosity he will try also the other two).

I really (strongly) think that we should "mix" more than one app in one, if we hope to gain from ads impressions (see the link I posted in #1)

i dont agree with you lucas, if i want a image editor then i will look for that app and not for an image editor and a unit converter and a todo list and a alarm app...

reasons:

* app size will be effected when you mix some apps together
* the apps may not be in good quality since you dont focus on 1 app only
* it would be annoying to start an app and then choose the app you want to use
*...

i dont see any benefits on making such an app.

if you mix apps that are related to each other then this is a good way like this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.aboy.tools

or if you mix games like this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=br.com.tapps.myboo

but if the apps are way different then i dont think you should mix them to 1 app.

(apps of the same kind is much better) is that I HATE the commercial policy of the ad networks, it is unfair.

As I have written, if all your 3 apps get 50K impressions / day, you will earn less than if it was a single app, while the ad network and the sponsors will earn the same amount.

The ad networks should sum the impressions that your apps get, by author (company, sw house or single developer it is).

They should use: "... SUM(Impressions) GROUP BY developer", talking as SQL developer :):mad::mad:

after uploading about 50 apps to App Store, Google Play, Amazone i can tell you that there is no if... then in this market.
you can make 1 app that is a big hit (like Catapult of @melonZgz) or 50 and dont see much income from it so there is no rule.

from about 45 apps i even dont make 1$/month so if i would mix then in 1 app i would not make much more then what i do today.
so forget about those calculations. try to make an app that you would download and that is really good. invest thought and time on it and not
on how much it will make you. because you never can know what it will do. if like you say an app that is a mix of 3-4 apps would make much more
income then you would probably have lots of multi apps in the markets but i dont see that.

This is sure (if a SW house had developed my app two years ago it has already gained quite a lot, I think).

But maybe I'm not able to explain.

If you have only two apps, both with many downloads / installs:

appA obtains 25K impressions / day
appB obtains 25k impressions / day

you will earn X$ / day.

If you have one app only, which obtains 50K impressions / day, you will earn X$ * 3 or more.

In both cases, 2 apps and 1app, the ad network you use and their advertisers (? is it right?) will earn the same amount. THIS IS UNFAIR AND I HATE.

who told you that. this is not true.

believe me luca i have lots of apps and all use the same advertiser.
so if 1 app with 10k impression makes 100$ then that doesnot mean that 10 apps with 1 k impression will make together 33$

again there is no math in this market. it depends a lot from where the ads comes. if your app is a big hit in usa then you will get for 1000 impression more then for an app with 100.000 impressions from ethiopian.

so there are many factors that are effecting the amount you will earn from ads. its not only the amount of impressions its much more then that.

i have today about 50% more impressions from 1 year ago but i make almost the same as last year. so can you explain that?

Advertisers have the right to choose when their ads will be displayed. A user from US/UK is more willing to spend money to buy/subscribe than a user from Nigeria... So the US/UK users are more valuable. If you have huge traffic from US/UK, ad networks will "fight" together to place their ads in your app.
But, at first, you must publish an app and get a lot of users. Don't just sitting there and guess how it works.

With one app in the UK I get around £3 to £10 ($4 to $13 USD) a day. Its just available as an APK download not on any stores. it used to make a little more, but that was by making the app jump to a web page after it had completed, this is using admob/adsense I average about 650 users per day.

This has nothing to do with what I wrote ;)

Because you're wrong about impression. It's not true that ad networks pay for all impressions at the same price.
For example: My app only display 1000 impressions/day but I can earn $10. Your app display 100.000 impressions but also earn $10. Because my users from US/UK and your users from Africa.

It's just an example about CPM model. There're many other models like CPC, CPA, CPI... Which have a different factors, not just like you thought.
