Now my designer has given me a background-image which I will use as an activity background (or perhaps in an imageview) and he told me to apply a gradient to this background-image. Is it possible to do this? Do I need to use the canvas-object? Any help/suggestions would be highly appreciated?

I have asked the designer the same question since I cannot understand the advantage of applying it at runtime. However, if it is possible, I would like to know how to do it. Thanks! Upvote 0

Erel B4X founder Staff member Licensed User Longtime User Aug 30, 2013 #4 It is not possible with the standard Canvas object. There are other drawing libraries that allow you to change the image transparency. I don't think (not sure) that they allow you to apply a gradient. I'm not sure that I understand what the designer means with applying a gradient to an existing image Upvote 0
