Java Question Best way of performing long running tasks?

Not sure which is the best method for doing this. I need to perform several long running tasks at the same time. Which is best: using the B4A thread pool, using AsyncTask or creating my own thread pool?

In all of the B4A libraries, background tasks are either done with the internal thread pool or without a pool at all if the task is a "never ending" task.
