Capture network packets with tcpdump or similar

I have tried to find something similar to wireshark (there is an android version, but not very good)

Am wondering how I can get basic4ppc to use tcpdump to capture network packets and write to a file, this can be run as a service in the background and be switched on/off?

Android doesn't allow you to listen to other apps communication for obvious security reasons.
