They did take a stand! Muslims all over the world, except for the radical jihadists, stood side by side with jews, christians, orthodoxs, methodists, etc... and made very clear the the terrorist did not avenge their prophet.
I see NO muslims religious main figure saying that terrorism is their religion... they try to defend their beliefs as good as they can, and interpretate it. only radicals and extremist use terror to "defend" their god.
