Android Question Check for data connection or gsm network?

With the phone library I can get the data state. This will tell me if the data connection is there or not. How do I check if the data connection exists or if the gsm network has been lost (If I pass through a hole in the gsm network for example). Hope this is clear.

I am thinking GetDataState can be true or connected although I have no connection due to lost gsm network: correct or not?

I prefer to check ServerSocket.GetMyIp and test whether it is "127.0.0.1"

This may be an answer as there appears to be a problem with Ping.
