I am developing a tech support application. My application similar to Whatsapp or Viber. My devices (users) are registered on the SQL server in Internet. How to check the user has access to the Internet now? How can you send him a text or voice message?

Best option is to try to connect to the server, and if it fails show a message to the user.

Thanks Erel. I am making application for tech support. My main task is to send a message to the consultant, who is currently active, For me need to select an active technical support consultant. The consultant who has the application running? will reply to the message earlier. Maybe there is a way to quickly send a ping from one user to another, with or without a server.

But this is the best approach also for a B4XPages (mobile) app based on REST API to access data over the internet ?
