Got AstraZeneca last Friday. Still not 100% (a bit tired, muscle pains, sweating but no fever), but extremely happy I got one. Just means it is working! ?
I too received the AstraZeneca dose as my first shot on 15th April, I will receive my second shot on 1st July, I'm in my fourties.
I didn't have any adverse side effects from my first shot, maybe a slight headache that night but to tell you the truth I already had a headache before I went for the vaccine in the first place, but the following day I was 100% fine.
I know a few people that have had their first vaccination shot and felt really really really bad afterwards. Luckily both my mother (87) and father (94) have had their shots (both first and second doses) and just soldiered on with absolutely no aftereffects whatsoever.
Sadly I've spoken to a few people that said after receiving their first shot and the bad reaction that they had to it, they said that they will not be going for their second shot. But on the flip side, I also know people that had a really bad reaction to their first shot and said that they can't wait for their second shot to hopefully be fully vaccinated. I also sadly know of one person in her thirties that says she will not be taking any vaccine doses under any circumstances.
I personally can't wait to receive my second shot, it's only 5 weeks away so I say bring it on

I really hope things get better in the coming days. The world is laughing on us for many news happen recently in my country. Some so called ministers or leaders have become laughing stocks. Many people neglect the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and government is delaying to implement a full lockdown due to economic concern but the people are suffering.

PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin says the AstraZeneca vaccine will no longer be offered as an opt-in choice and will now be used as part of the national immunisation programme.
My wife and I had the first dose of AstraZeneca a few weeks ago. There's a been a spike in people coming forward here in Victoria, Australia this week because for the first time in many months, we've had cases of COVID within the community and it's shaken people out of complacency.
We are very fortunate that here in the UK we seem to have both very little vaccine hesitancy and a good supply of vaccine so our program is going like a train. Australia and New Zealand, as examples, have coped well with Covid suppression, but freedoms will be necessarily constrained until they get vaccination to the herd immunity level.
It looked like we might manage that here about mid-summer time but the Indian variant looks like it is more transmissible so we will need a higher % of the population vaccinated before the infection rate fully dies down. Although on the brighter side full vaccination does seem to be still effective against this variant.

Note that Vaxzevira (AstraZeneca) and Janssen (Johnson&Johnson) are "classic" vaccines, not based on RNA (Pfizer, Moderna).
And the RNA vaccins were decades in the making. It is not like they just came up with them for Covid. They are the future and as a matter of fact, I would've prefered to have gotten one of those, but I couldn't chose. Anyways, just very pleased I got already my first shot. 13th of August my second one...
I took my first shot of Moderna (also couldn't choose, but I'm totally ok with it) ten days ago. Expecting my 2nd shot by the end of June. Still have my four arms and no visible mutations.
My only aim is to be totally vaccinated in summer in order to travel abroad (unless things get worse everywhere, let's hope not!)

I got my first shot of AstraZeneca on the 6th of May, felt terrible for about 12 hours, starting 12 hours after the shot. Shivering, then feeling weak and nauseous. Was fine after 24 hours though. Second shot is end of July.
The UK have done really well getting vaccines out to people. I'm 41 and we're now delivering shots to anyone over 30. I wish the best of luck to the rest of the world, Israel are the only other country to do better so far.

I got my first shot, Moderna, on 10th of February and the second shot on 10th of March, I am 76 and considered as a risky person in my country.
I did not have the choice, but I would have chosen Moderna, because of the conservation temperature. Currently, only Pfizer and Moderna are available in Switzerland.
I had no side effects.

1 day after jab with Pfizer, no ill side effects - Not even a sore arm (I turn 63 on June 12).
The center said I could expect the second by August - but I stated it will probably much sooner since Canada is getting plenty of supply.
As we open up (possibly too soon), let us hope we don't expose ourselves to another wave.
We can beat this by getting our shots and observing caution.
The world is so much smaller today because of this...

That’s why many in my country were concerned in the first place then government open the AZ for volunteers to register for first come first serve basis. It turns out it received an overwhelming demand when suddenly the number of cases has reached a new record high (due to people travel interstate during Eid celebration). Now, everyone does not care whatever vaccines are offered.

Absolutely! I have two ex-classmates (both 47 years old and not risk patients) who died of this dreadful virus and one other friend (same age) who barely made it. He lost 10kg in 6 days and couldn't walk without assistance for weeks. All were in good health before. I bet they would've been more than happy if they could've been vaccinated. There are always fringe cases as the one above, but they are heavily outweighed by the benefits for tens of thousands of other people. Women taking the birth control pill are hundreds of times more at risk to develop a blood clot in the leg or lung than one taking this vaccine, but we still start giving it to 14-year-old girls all the time.
