Designer connection - Superpad VI

I have just been given a Chinese Superpad VI 10" tablet to add to my already cluttered desktop full of Android development devices.

Some of the default drivers seem to be in place (Win Vista) and the USB recognises the internal file system. Sadly when connected to my PC Vista reports incomplete driver installation. The tablet internal file system is visible to Vista but the B4A Designer will not connect to the device nor will the PC file system regognise the installed SD card storage. No drivers came with this tablet and I have had no luck trawling the internet either.

The tablet is running ICS 4.0.3
Model fj_vortex Kernel 3.0.8

Anyone had this problem ???

To answer part of my own question....

When the target device has ICS (Android 4.x.x) open the Android SDK manager on ensure you have Google USB driver Rev 4 installed. I had done this but this driver was not being recognised by Vista as a new driver for some reason.

Having connected the tablet by USB open 'Device Manager' and navigate to the connected device(s) showing (!) .... right click and select 'Update Driver' navigate manually and point to the top of the C:\Program Files\Android.... file tree and update. I had to do this for two separate (!) in Device Manager.

The Designer now seems to work but I still cannot access the installed (and mounted) SD card from the PC. Using ASTRO I can navigate quite happily within the device to... /mnt/sdcard/external_sd and find files there. When I navigate via USB from the PC all I find are the folders...

.estrongs
DCIM
tmp
Android
external_sd >>> with no files evident!

Any ideas ???
