Does Android have a standard Search box for developers?

I have noticed that when you press the Search button of the phone when inside apps like IMDb, Android Market, Handcent SMS, Go SMS, Youtube, Gmail, eBay etc...it shows a search box at the top of the screen with the app's icon on the left side. Is this a standard Android feature for developers?

There is a standard search dialog in Android. It is not yet supported.
Note that it only handles the UI, not the actual searches.

Thanks for confirming Erel. Though it doesn't handle searches, it sure saves the trouble of designing an activity for searches.

I hope you will add this feature to one of the future updates.
