General questions and concerns re B4X

I imagine these 2 questions have been asked before, but here goes:

1. Suppose something terrible happens to Erel. Are there other developers prepared to keep B4X alive and growing into the future?

2. Do apps created with B4A and B4i actually show up on Android's Google Play and the iOS App Store?

There is also a usual gesture to do in these cases: scratch your stuff.

1. Anywhere Software is a company
2. There are (for sure) other developers
3. Erel is online 24/365. No time for other things. We're safe here.
4. They need to earn money, so I don't believe it will get open source
5. We have many experts here (@DonManfred @sorex , etc.). In the case we will force them to learn .net :)

6. Erel is a fantasy name for a bunch of very nice and knowledgeable programmers. They even hired a young man and his family to perform the "Erel on vacation" character.

About apps on official stores..well, probably most of the best ones are written using B4x tools. Add yours to the bunch!

Not sure what you mean here. Many of use have apps written using B4A and B4i on the app stores, and some of use have seen these apps get popular and do very well.

yes,

as you can see @Erel created robots (Cyborg's). today there are only 30 but soon they will take over the world.

Do apps created with B4A and B4i actually show up on Android's Google Play and the iOS App Store?

o_Oo_Oo_O

what do you think are 80k members doing with b4x?
i have about 50 apps on App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android)

but i need to mention i stole 2 robots from erel that helped me create those apps :p

List of development tools / frameworks that Microsoft or other large companies killed:
- VB6
- LightSwitch
- SilverLight
- WinForms / WPF (not 100% correct)
- .Net CF
- RoboVM
- Marmalade SDK

There are probably many more.

The fact that a development tool is backed by a large company doesn't mean that it will be developed forever.

I'm not sure if @ralvy has got the expected answers...

1 = Yes

2 = Of course. I have two ("just to try") on Google Play (the rest of my apps is customer specific and provided via my servers). Some guys here did some great games, too.

Check @Cableguy's profile:

He has joined this forum in 2007. He probably joined the previous forum on 2006 or 2005.
Many things have changed since 2007 but we are both here :)

I hope to see Cableguy and all of the great members in this community for many years to come...
If I recall correctly, I'm here since mid 2004, 2 versions before B4Ppc liberated itself from the need of runtime libs and became self-sufficient compiling .exe files...
There are many users still here from that time, like @RandomCoder, @agraham, etc...
Back then, the forum was gracefully lodged by another user in his private server (@GeoCoder)...
I missed the birth of B4Ppc, but it's like we have become childhood friends, helping each other grow, and I can proudly say that, @Erel and B4x saved both my sanity and my life...

How about if comet Halley hit the earth and I just bought the latest version of B4X.. any refund?
I asked this question some time ago and for some reason I didn't receive any answer. Now I expect Erel to tell me to start a new thread for this question. :)

Fortunately I was not there at that time; the forum was definitely less fun without lunatics like me :D

What if an alien civilisation decides to make a freeway that passes directly through Earths location, do I get a refund to buy some pints before the end?
