Give thread creators the ability to block them?

I don't know if it's possible, although I assume it is.

Now I would create a thread in "Chit Chat", with a single post:
"Some heads of State are criminally insane. They are leading us to the third and final world war."

but I would like to block it, because other posts could be less generic and create problems for the site, which I absolutely do not want.

It would be useful if the creator of the thread could block it (perhaps with an automatic notification to Erel).

Why not use the report function?

I didn't understand this question; maybe my post wasn't clear?!
It's me who didn't understand.
I actually meant any subsequent replies if you think against the forum etiquette are reported.

But I don't understand why you want to do that.
You want to make single post and close the thread.
This is not how the forum works.
This is more like an announcement.
Forum is for public discussion.

"single post" only in that case, but in others you might want to close a thread, as Erel has done several times when, for example, the thread is exclusively describing a new library.
In that case, it makes sense and it was asked before.

You mean "lock"?
The word "block" is confusing and misleading.
