Hello,

on my device (HTC Touch 3G with int. GPS) I get no connection to my int. GPS with GPS4PPC.
Can anyone help me please?
Other programs - Pathaway or GoogleMaps - get connection to GPS.
I also have made a softreset, no connection.

Thanks for all help in future.
Please excuse my bad "german" english!

Read this link - there is a problem with your device and .net.

http://www.b4x.com/forum/tutorials/1093-gps-application-part-i.html#post9594

If you have windows mobile 5 or higher, you can define a port to which the GPS data is sent. there is another library called GPSDriver.dll which enables the use of GPS, through this soft port.

Hello David (derez),
thanks for your help!
But I don't understand really the tutorial.
I don't want to make a new GPS-program. I only copied the downloaded program GPS4PPC.ZIP - and there GPS4PPC - WM6.EXE - on my HTC.
Program begins with a nice window with the 3 big and 1 little buttons, but nothing runs if I tip on the compass-button. There can I see:
Number of satellites: 0
...
If I tip on GPS:
Connect
Connect: Port4
Disconnect (in grey)

If I tip on connect (or connect Port4) and then on port4:
little window: GPS connected - but after some sec GPS disconnected

I am very confused.

Please can you - or someone else - help me, because this program I find very nice and helpful.

The program is using the Hardware port of the GPS, and the HTC has its own special design, such that this specific program cannot work on your device.
There is another way of using the GPS on the HTC, with the soft port.

The attached program is a demo for the use of soft port, try it (but it will not give you what GPS4PPC provides...)

Thank you for your answer with your Demo-program!

Yesterday I tried it near a window -not outside because it was raining ;-(
I got 3 satellites and no more.

Today I tried it outside - after softreset -:

very well - 9 satellites and a nice window with ID Azimuth etc, wonderful!

Many thanks for your programming-work!
Now my HTC Touch 3G ( I have it since 10 days) shows all of GPS-dates.

Is it possible to get the source code for it?

Hello David,

oh what a wonderful day today!
Thank you very much for your answer with GPS4PPC_SP.exe!!

I tried it today outside directly. Befor I copied the 3 files from the zip in a separate Ordner GPS4PPC_SP in Programme on my device.
I got a "missing" - compass.bmp ; well I copied the 2 compass-files in GPS4PPC in GPS4PPC_SP.
Then it shows 9 satellites and a position, fantastic!!!!

You are the greatest for me!

Thank you very much again!

Is it possible to get the source-code?

And only one question I had:

It is possible, that the position from the "compass"-window goes automaticly in the "converter"-window?
So can one get directly the UTM's.

Many greetings and thanks

Ida

P.S. Please excuse my "german" english!

I'm glad you are happy with the result.

If you are a member (= you purchased B4PPC) then you can download it from the forum directly.
I guess you are not, so you have to ask EREL (it is his business !) if he permit it.

If you were so happy with this little program (which is just a demonstrator of B4PPC capabilities) you should buy it and create your own programs. I can assure you it is easy and what you requested (to have the coordinates in the converter) is a piece of cake...

I recommend !:)

Edit:
Erel approved, so here is the source and the EXE for the updated program.
I made the converter form show continuously the Lat\Long and the UTM.
If you want to convert without the textboxes being updated - go to GPS form and disconnect.

thanks for your reply!
Surely I am "member" (I have purchased Basic4PPC some days ago).
But where can I download "your" source-code of GPS4PPC_SP and GPSDemoDriver?

Sorry, I am new here and beginner in programming and - too - some years old.
Please excuse my perhaps silly questions.

You write:

well for you!! But not for me old beginning "programmer".

Question for Mr. Erel using GPS4ppc

:)Hi Mr.Erel

Question: using GPS4ppc.
Using the Compass mode in the Field you have to turn the Device in Arrow Direction. Is there a way to change this Behavior? Like Arrow = Direction and something like a Float for the N/S/W/O and Degrees.

Best regards,
Wm. Chatman

Sorry, i will try my best to let you know what i had in mind.
On a hike the Compass Arrow or Icon shows your present course. Holding the Device up front, I need to turn the Device to get the Compass Arrow straight up, like pointing at 1200 h.
The Compass itself is stationary N-S-O-W (always is North), can we get this to turn (Float).
1. Have the Arrow pointing up at 1200h, for the Direction.
2. Have the Compass (Pic) with the (N-S-O-W) turn, meaning showing
north.
