Hi,

Here is my latest creation : a fully automated homebrew system

It's composed of :
- one 70 liters stainless steel kettle
- a 12V recirculating pump
- a 4500W electric heater, controled via a 40A Solid State Relay
- a temperature probe
- all this controled with a custom ESP8266 wifi board
- and a BA4 application :)

ESP8266 handles all the sensors and controls the PID temperature regulation
Android App does all the "glue" and GUI

- import of BeerXML recipees
- edit/modify recipees
- launch/pause/stop/reset/save current recipee
- control all the brewing process in real time

And finally the very first brew done this afternoon (wait one month to taste it :rolleyes:)

Then it will be a double(malt?) respect

Now you have one month to find someone to test it first, just in case...;)

Previous bottle was carbonated using a CO2 pressurized bootle.
This one is a "genuine beer" carbonation being done with sugar added directly into the bottle.
I should have waited one week more...but couldn't resist ...
The result is far above my expectations !

Homebrewing is really fun (almost as much as B4A :))

How strong is it? Like standard Lager - more or less 4.5% ?
or is that impossible to measure or decide beforehand without specific methods?

Well,

With homebrew, you can do pretty much what you want. All is depending on the recipee, the malt you choose, the temperature steps, time, ...
This one should be around 6%. With precise measurements of wort density you can get the alcohol you want (need) !
The second one (bottle) is exactly the same batch but I have added fresh hop into the fermentation chamber during 3 weeks (dry hoping method, see the bag containing hop below). The flavour is totally different. It is more or less a kind of IPA with a lot of hop flavour. Really excellent !

Homebrewing is highly developped in the States and in Australia. Here, in France, it is starting quite well. Currently, in Toulouse (my town) more than 50 homebrewers are in a 50 km perimeter !
