Label drawable

Hi,
I am setting drawable for a Label control to color drawable in the designer window.
But when i run the app in emulator,label's background colour didnt change.
when i set color in code in activity_create event,color is applied.

Am i doing anything wrong while designing?..
why label's color didnt show up as specified in design time?

In the Designer the Alpha value is set to 0 which means transparent.
You must set it's value to 255.
