Tool MCP Server for B4A

Hi! I was looking but I dont really know where I should post this, so really excuse me if do wrong in my first post!

I just want to share an MCP Server for B4A I made (well... Claude Code made, because I was just the director lol).

Worked great for me this days with Claude Code.

Its made in vb.net, so feel free to use it the way you need.

I think this MCP can be also build using B4J.

B4A and B4J are free to use but they are still proprietary softwares.
Some of the internal working of these softwares are not openly documented and exposed.
I am not sure how one can create an MCP server to interact with B4A and is this allowed by Anywhere Software?

Which type of interaction are you referring to? I'm completely fine with external processes that use automation features to access the IDE.

I have just taken a bit of time exploring the repo.
From the list of available tools, now I have understood what this MCP server is about.
Can we really call this an MCP server? Maybe yes.
But from my understanding, it is still lacking of some main functionalities such as real-time debugging or ad-hoc adding modules or libraries.
Maybe those functionalities are not important for AI agent because it is not actually going to "use" the IDE or editing a project in an opened window.
It will build from the updated vibe code. It doesn't care what the values of variables, breakpoints or step in debugging.
My understanding is, this MCP server is touching only some surface of B4A IDE, which includes reading the project file, list of libraries, B4ABuilder, JsonLayout Converter, ADB.
It is a good idea and attempt to combine all of these tools.
So I think it only need B4ABuilder, not the B4A IDE.
It is more of an MCP server for B4ABuilder, plus other tools.
Can it use for vibe coding B4A?
I think yes, but not in a way of as a human developer live debugging using an IDE.

I'm glad to see your idea. So, is it currently possible to accept commands and have IDE automatically compile the program? At the same time, there is a prompt indicating the compilation progress. If possible, then a fully automated program can be generated.

You can call B4ABuilder to compile your B4A project into .apk or .aab by automation.

Hi Yes, it can edit, compile, create or modify layouts, etc. It was made in some hours, so dont expect to be full featured! Anyway is near magical to this kinds of things with so little effort and so fast! . If you want me to implement something you miss, tell me.

Don't worry, nothing blurry under the sun hahahaha I think I dont dissasemble anything since 1997 lol

It already compiles and sign the APK. It also has manifest editor etc, so you just have to tell Claude Code what you want, and he will know what and how to edit it.

Not with automatic unit testing or debugging now since my programs in b4a are usually very easy (just MQTT dashboards for my esp32 toys at home). It only brings logcat. I can try to implement it (well... claud will implement it lol) if you thing is going to be useful for the community.

The easiest way is to copy the repository to a folder and tell claude code to install it hahahha In fact, I suggest you to do a /init on the folder, and if you find something u want to add or modify on the mcp, just tell him to do it and after compiling, tell him to kill and restart the mcp server. Claude Code with MCPs is stupidly powerful even with sonnet 4.6.

I think is not really needed... maybe to show the capabilities... but not really needed for anyone that uses claudy. Anyway, if I get some time and I my health problems let me, i will Feel free to do it if u want too (I would put the link on github)
