That's good, you have a work around. If it's important and you have time, you could search for a font that behaves as it should. But you still couldn't be sure it would work well on all devices.

Thanks for all your help. It pushed me to dig a little deeper.

The fact that the external font changed widths depending on which android device it was loaded on to would make it difficult to find and verify an replacement.

For now I will just stick with the default.MONOSPACE which as far as I know only fails on the Kindle.
