Android Example MySteps - Step Counter App

GitHub: https://github.com/pyhoon/MySteps

My girlfriend always complain when I said I have walked a long way on the whole day.
She always think I am lazy and don't like to exercise.
I don't have proof as I don't have a smart watch or smart band.
I asked Gemini to see if I can build an app using B4A.
Here is an example using runtimepermission.PERMISSION_ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION (Phone library) and store the value into KeyValueStore.
No fancy UI so I made this a B4A example.

Update: MySteps_v1.zip (added foreground service and daily target)

I just found this class by Erel.

My example above however doesn't use Receiver, Location Services or Google Play additional jar.

Worked out of the box on my first 2 walks .. (Oppo A38) then nothing... going to do some testing as to why it stopped recording .

Very curious and could be very handy , no Smart Watch here either.

Thanks & Cheers

Edit: On a side note , In my Apps drawer it is sorted at the very end of "S" after "Swan Security" ... ? ?

Foreground service is not added yet so anyone is welcome to add more features and improve it.

Tell your girlfriend that physical exercise reduces the risk of heart attacks and various diseases, but increases the risk of infidelity 😁

Hahah, she is always right. I agree and admit I should have done more phsycal exercises.

As some on this forum would say "You should start a new thread for this ....". There's a lot to discuss here ;););););)
