I need to start setting higher goals!
I'm also thrilled to see members finally posting and making their creations known!

I noticed the 200 mark had been hit well done :). I'm currently looking for things to post that won't take days to test and prepare (Some of my interesting libraries are quite old and will need checking, although no one has said they have stopped working, but due diligence and all that).

Hello Steve,
I'm currently looking for things to post that won't take days to test and prepare.
Well your B4J Print JavaFX8 library still works great Steve.

A few months ago, I developed a program that my more serious customers use. The program prints A6 and A7 sized Kanban cards for my invoicing and warehouse stock control solutions. I've created multiple layout designs for both the A6 and A7 Kanban cards, and I use your excellent library to print them.

Left side is A7, right side is A6.

The A7 printout is actually a smaller custom paper size, as by default the library only goes to A6 paper size. I'm using the custom paper size code that you posted on the forum to accomplish create A7. I'm going to post the above image in the Fb group next week with a simple text.

Anyway, nice work Steve 👏

NEW FACEBOOK GROUP PERSONALIZED LINK!

When I created the FB Group, the name was not set in stone... in fact within the first 24h it changed at least 4 times!
Now that it is getting traction (We reached the goal of 200 members in less than 2 weeks!), and upon sugestion from @f0raster0, I personalized the Group link to the Following:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/b4x.developers

There is a B4X developers private group from 7 years ago on Facebook...
View attachment 165398
Well, I did search for it before, and if you only use "B4X' as your search term, It doesn't even show!
If you search for the entire "B4X DEVELOPERS' term, it shows up in 5th position (by default FB only shows the first 3 results, thus one needs to click the "show more" to find it!)
Almost 400 members, not bad, specially since it was created without any "support" from the B4X community.
Why our new group is different?... 7 years ago were weren't over 110k members in the forum, and although the will to spread the word about B4X was present, it never had real traction... A private group only takes you so far... the postings are not seen by anyone else but the members, so getting new members is hard!
A public group, like the one we created 2 weeks ago, will be able to capture more public, simply because our posts will be seem by anyone visiting the group, so they can have a glimpse of what B4X is about.
Do you feel the social pressure? I don't. No social networks for me, thank you!
Its everybody's choice... I've joined B4PPC over 25 years ago! and choose to stay... this is a social network too, according to the accepted definition
Joined FB around the same time.
And did you know that everything you publish on Facebook becomes the property of Meta?
So are the fidelity card companies you joined to get some discounts on their supermarkets, or your internet operator...
We are the only ones responsible for WHAT we share, being it in social networks, in live chats, in forums, in real life when talking with strangers...
Meta is no different, and honestly, being "there" for over 25 years, I never had my data exploited in ways I would consider unlawful...
I get some pub, so what? we get it while watching tv, listening to the radio, or even on the streets while taking a stroll !

Again, Its everyone's choice, but the arguments I read nowadays... just don't convince me... but that's me!

A few facts:
- Anywhere Software was founded in 2003 according to crunchbase.com (@Erel can confirm this)...
- Facebook was founded in 2004 and was open for the public in 2006...
- @Erel (and @Cableguy) joined the community forums in 2007...
- Facebook contains fake adds using famous people (according to recent news articles)...

Wikipedia places the release of B4PPC at 2005, so I guess I am only part of the B4X community for 20 years... still, not many can state the same!
B4X didn't exist at the time, only B4Ppc, so Anywhere story and B4X story didn't start in this forum!
- @Erel (and @Cableguy) joined the community forums in 2007...
Joined THIS community forum! This forum was created when B4X suite was born. When there was only B4PPC, we had a forum setted up by a forum member, that has since left the train... GeoCoder! @agraham may still remember this.
- Facebook contains fake adds using famous people (according to recent news articles)...

Even TV is full of fakes... fake news, fake actors, fake journalists...
Not to mention real life, In Japan we can hire a silent friend! someone to sand by you in complete silence... In Korea, you can hire a fake boyfriend/girlfriend!
A good dose of common sense helps a lot seeing the difference!

240 members! We are growing! This past week growth was a bit slower, but that is expected. Still, I hope we can reach 300 members by the months end, and 500 before October... maybe even 1000 members by new year's day.
So, keep our FB Group alive and kicking!
Keep posting about your achievements, and current projects.
Together we can make B4X better known!

Why not create a Telegram group too?

My Telegram Web is open on my PC 55/24 hours 😁.
I don't know about other countries, but here in France Telegram has some very bad rep, as it is considered almost as a gang messaging system...
Many unlawful actions by organized gangs, like the Marseille Drug lords, have used it to recrute under age killers, and organize riots whenever a public manifestation takes place... So I personally prefer to stay away from it.

It just means that the messages are well protected and well encrypted; I'd say that's a quality!

Signing up to Marseille (or, worse, Italian 😁) mafia chat rooms isn't a prerequisite😁

We should ask ChatGPT:

"How did Telegram gain market share despite the existence of WhatsApp?"

I'm about to do it.

Telegram has managed to carve out a significant niche alongside WhatsApp by offering a distinctly different feature set and user experience:
  1. Privacy and Security Positioning
From the start, Telegram emphasized privacy‑focused features: optional end‑to‑end encryption in “secret chats,” self‑destructing messages, and the ability to use the service without sharing your phone number publicly. Although WhatsApp also offers end‑to‑end encryption by default, Telegram’s marketing around anonymity and ephemeral messaging attracted users wary of data‑sharing policies within the Meta ecosystem.

Well, I Do wish the other did that - my pet hate about social media - perhaps Signal hides that number (can't remember).

As before - I don't do TwitFace.....nice to see you've attracted a good gang of rioters and counter cultural flag members (as long as they don't support Marseille or rugby Francé - 🤣)

Nice one 😀

Some new posts showing what is possible using B4X was posted yesterday on the new B4X Facebook group, nice work by the way

Hopefully more B4X developers will start to post some screenshots and links of their B4X created projects and solutions on the new Facebook group.

Let's show others what's actually possible using B4X.
