Can you attach code example ? I've downloaded the library and test it on an Arduino UNO but I've no luck (the matrix works ok on Arduino IDE) Maybe doesn't work with Arduino UNO -- Arduino IDE version=1.6.11

B4X:
Sub Process_Globals
    'These global variables will be declared once when the application starts.
    'Public variables can be accessed from all modules.
    Public Serial1 As Serial
    Public DINPin As Pin
    Public CSpin As Pin
    Public CLKPin As Pin
    Public LedMatrix As LedMatrix
    Public Timer1 As Timer
    Public count As Byte
End Sub

Private Sub AppStart
    Serial1.Initialize(115200)
    Timer1.Initialize("Timer1_Tick",2000)
    DINPin.Initialize(10,DINPin.MODE_OUTPUT)
    CSpin.Initialize(9,CSpin.MODE_OUTPUT)
    CLKPin.Initialize(8,CLKPin.MODE_OUTPUT)
    LedMatrix.Initialize (1,CSpin.PinNumber) ' tested with 0 and 1 for connected devices but doesn't work either

    Timer1.Enabled=True
    Log("AppStart")
End Sub

Sub Timer1_Tick

    If count>9 Then
        Log ("Greater than 9")
    Else
        Log(count)
        count=count+1
        LedMatrix.Intensity=count
        LedMatrix.SetPixel(4,4)
    End If

End Sub

Ok, here it is: (tested and working on MAX7219LedMatrix)

Otherwise, if it's difficult to wrap, maybe is easier to wrap LedControl or LedControlIMS (tested and working on MAX7219LedMatrix); there're a huge amount of LED libraries !!

Thanks, I was involved in this post but my memory seems too weak! (I've done a lot of forum searches and spi & ci as post tittle doesn't help in the search)
I will try to create a B4R post for Arduino Uno and rmax7219

I can't test it in a time, I haven't ESP8266 /Wemos D1 for now; in theory as Erel said, this is an ESP8266 library; googling there're several links that includes this error and the solution but don't know if they apply here.

Have you tested on an example on Arduino IDE ?

Maybe someone can test it with an ESP8266/Wemos D1.

I have tried to do this in Thai language, I think it should have anchor for resizing fonts as following varying size of led board(bigger or smaller size of led board.
