Serious problem with trial version

Basic4Android looks like a really great product. I have downloaded the trial version with the full intent of purchasing the fully working version if it lives up to its promisses.

I have encountered a serious problem with the installation. Like many people I already had a working eclipse system on my computer.
When I try to run the AVD Manager I get.

"an error occured the path is not of a legal form"

I presum that this is due to a the space in the file name of the standard installation which we are warned about. I didn't think a standard installation would contain this error!

I hav tried installing a new version of the SDK to a different directory then uninstalling Basic4Android and reinstalling it . This does not cure the problem.

Are my assumptions as to the cause correct?

Please would someone tell me how to fix this problem. I can't be the first to have it but I have failed to find an answer when searching.

This error is not in Basic4android. It is in Google SDK manager.
You do not need to reinstall Basic4android. Did you set the path under Tools - Configure Paths to point to the new SDK installation?
What is the path of the SDK?

Ok to answer my own problem the solution appears to be to chose the Restart ADB server option and put in the new pathway to the unbroken file name version of the android files.
