Android Question SLC Cannot find Basic4android folder

Why can't i run SLC?
Error is "Cannot find Basic4android folder", but the folder exists.
I uninstalled and reinstalled B4A to fix any registry issues but still doesn't fix the problem.
B4J SLC, on the other hand, runs just fine. If I rename the B4J folder then it won't run. I rename it back and it runs again.

Probably not related to this error, but the Java folder inside Program Files is a mistake as that it's a restricted system folder.

moved it. Didn't make a difference. Also, it's been there since forever I did not notice any problem.

Is the B4A IDE configured correctly? Have you compiled and run a project?

yes. Paths are set correctly and I've been compiling and debugging via USB and B4A Bridge

I think SLC requires Java 8.

SLC is not dependent on B4A or B4J.
It can run standalone.

The project folder selection might be wrong. You need to point to the project folder that contains the src folder

Check if you have C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Roaming\Anywhere Software\Basic4android\b4xV5.ini

Are you using B4A 32-bit?

The JDK8 path should be inside C:\Program Files not C:\Program Files (x86).

the installer is jdk-8u241-windows-i586.exe from my backup from years ago. So probably 32bit

I use OpenJDK 19.0.2. I only installed Java 8 to try to get SLC to run

But current B4A is 64-bit version.
Why not try to use 64-bit JDK8?

Yes, you can keep JDK8 in Program Files path for SLC and JDK19 in another path for B4A/B4J.
SLC still need to get the path of the AdditionalLibraries folder which set by the IDE.

Additional Libraries is set correctly

Just make sure you rename the B4A/B4J folder back to the correct installation folder.
