I've got a few apps I'm working on that use sqlite tables. How do I let others download edit the tables and then republish the apk with their own data. They'll want to update their tables and republish as often as they like.
They cant just republish the apk. It needs to have a different package name, and signed by a different developer key.
The sdk contains tools that do this (jarsigner etc).
If they are noobs, you better write a script or app that lets them do these steps safely.
I guess if they rename the apk to zip, they can repace the db files, and rename back to apk.
I have never tried this though, I dont know if it will work.
What happens if two people make an update, you could lose the first person's update. The better solution would, of course, be a central DB which users can update and refresh their local DB from.
I'm putting together an offline browsing app, no updates to this database. Think of it as an offline website, with a tab for inquiries (which are then emailed).
