how can i get the line count on TextField?

I would take Text property of a TextField, and count number of CRLF's ... didn't check but should be one of the solutions.

I want to set the user a limit, I do not want a user can go down an infinite number of lines, otherwise the list is too long. There are enough trolls these days.

In that case I think that you should go with a simple solution:

1. Check the number of CRLF and limit based on that number.
2. Add a general limit for the text length.
