Hi all Ran across a couple of articles that I believe would be of interest to Android (or iPhone or Windows Phone) developers. For many years I have subscribed to Jakob Nielsen's Alertbox mailing list. He is a usability expert and the most recent report is probably of interest to anyone involved in designing for various sizes of screens (like Android phones and tablets). You can read the article at http://www.nngroup.com/articles/scaling-user-interfaces/ Another couple of articles that might be of interest here are: http://www.nngroup.com/articles/mobile-content-is-twice-as-difficult/ and, on Windows 8: http://www.nngroup.com/articles/windows-8-disappointing-usability/ that points out that trying to fit one design on both tablets and desktop is not really a good idea. What’s simple and appropriate on a phone can be simply dumb on a tablet or on a desktop.

Trying to fit one design on both phones and tablets (or desktops) is not recommended by many, including Google. Perhaps, in order to do this, we could design for a "medium-sized" device and then let the code to suit it. Or ... change hobby / profession Thanks for this information Upvote 0

LucaMs Expert Licensed User Longtime User Apr 15, 2014 #3 I started from second link: Jakob Nielsen has discovered that ... on a mobile device there is less space. Wow!!! Perhaps it would be best to read first... the first one (After the reading) Mamma mia! I escaped. He mainly talks about the psychological aspect of fruition of informations (maybe he has not a good psychoanalyst ). I'm sorry, but I think this Upvote 0
