Will BJ4 be free (or for B4A paying customers only?)

Good question. B4J will be free for all.

If it is for free for everyone, what is the benefit to Anywhere Software?

Good Promotion which means visibility which means promotion to paying products

I think that it will also make Basic4android more attractive as developers will be able to more easily create a "complete solution" (back end and multiple front-ends).

    Did you ever see jabaco?
    http://www.jabaco.org/

It's an four year old german project, which uses the java runtime, but its own compiler. I think, there was no action in the last years, maybe there is a chance for some cooperation?

    Great Erel!
Somehow I think that sooner or later a b4Iphone will be here as well ;)

Good idea Erel. But it will be great to start looking at OSX/Windows Phone, and others instead of desktop apps. People are moving to Tablets/Ipads/Mobiles platform.

    Great Work.

I've tried it yesterday and I was surprised with how quickly I could do my first JAR file. I tried this JAR file on my PC (Windows8) and my wife's laptop (MAC) and it worked perfectly in both. I think it will be very useful.
    Really thanks Erel.

Great Development Tool - Well Done.

Started to build my first apps and libraries (see http://www.rwblinn.de/142k5t24.htm) under Windows 8.
Also tested (no issues) conversion JAR to EXE (using Launch4j) to get a standalone app.

    Thank You

    @rwblinn,

thx for sharing your library-sources! They are good examples for creating libraries basedon the information available on docs.oracle.com.

Thank you for sharing this. Looks great!

Note that the name is B4J not Basic4Java ;)

I have been advised that my Object Browser works with B4J. I haven't tried it myself though...

I can confirm that it does. The B4J xml files are produced by the same Doclet as used for B4. Any B4A library with no specific Android dependency, like my ByteConverter and Encryption libraries, will work unchanged with B4J.
