Android Tutorial Which device are you using?

Just curious as to which device(s) other than the emulator are you using for testing your application. Phone or tablet? Which brand/model/where purchased, etc.? I used a borrowed Cricket android phone and experienced first hand how difficult it might be for a user to get to the buttons or enter data. It gave me good insight on things I had not thought about while designing on the emulator.

:)

Hello,

I'm new to this Basic4Android, but I would like to share a list of my devices,
on which I succesfully run my B4A applications :)

- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (running Android 2.3.5)
- Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V (still running the stock 2.3 Android, because this is my wifes' phone)
- Ainol Novo 7 (first device with a MIPS processor, running Honeycomb 3.2)
- Cheap 7" Chinese MID with Wondermedia WM8650 chipset (with Uberoid V10 MOD)
- SmartQ V5 (trippleboot Android/Ubuntu/WinCE)
- Openpeak O2 Joggler with x86 architecture
(actually a (cheap) English (advanced) picture-frame with wifi, usb & touchscreen, running a modified Android 2.2.2)

P.S.
I also own 3 FriendlyARM devices (mini2440 with 3,5" & mini6410 with 7" and another mini2440 with VGA output), which I'm planning to put Android on ...

best regards from Belgium,
Kris

Devices

Hello b4a.world!

I'm currently using 4 devices:

- Geeksphone Zero phone, a small, nice and cheap free mobile
- Samsung Galaxy Ace phone (from my wife) :sign0100: (both)
- Acer Iconia a100 7" tablet (from my son)
- Asus Transformer TF101 with keyboard (expensive but fantastic!)

So I covered almost every screen resolution and can compare speeds, touch screens an different Android versións rooted and not.

Hope that I never need to use the emulator :sign0137:. I ever use the Designer alone or connected to a real device, it works really well!

Cheers!

For Anywhere Software people: :sign0098:

Japanese phone

Hi gang,

Just one phone here, a Sharp IS03, 3.5" 640x960 pixels (scale=2), 1GHz CPU.
Surprisingly fast and well designed to the Android standard. Ties up with B4A like a charm, including B4A bridges. No need for wasting time with the emulator.

Wish I had a 1280 x 800 tablet to test my 25 (thanks to B4A) applications already in the market.

Al the best
