Wish - Panel with a border

Would like to be able to add borders of a user defined width and colour to a Panel. Or have a Groupbox like VB i.e. a transparent panel but with border but user defined width and colour.

Couple of questions Klaus

This seems like an easy solution to a question that I had earlier. The problem that I see with this is that if I design a panel with color I need to change the code to actually change the color. I understand the border still needs to be styled but the panel color also?

The Panel object doesn't support getting the current color of the panel (i.e. clr = pnl.Color). Also if the panel has a corner radius this solution ignores the radius.

It would be nice to have this as a property of the panel.

Another thing is why would anyone create a property setter without creating a get functionallity? Maybe Android doesn't support it but that seems kind of strange.

Because the value is not stored in a simple way. A new Drawable object is created which can be of several types.

If you always have the Panels with their color given you can remove the FillColor variable and remove the background drawing function.
I made the routine more general to show what can be done.
