Cars, if only I had the funds for my own collection ;)

I've owned a few cars myself but only 2 which i remember well.
Currently I don't own a car myself because I've been driving with a company car for the last 10 years.

The cars I remember wel:
  • Toyota corolla (1994): 1.6l 16 valve engine (this was my very first car and i drove it like i stole it :D)
  • Ford mustang (1968): This one will always be my favorite. It had a 4.7l V8 which produced about 200Hp. The softest ride I've ever owned but a nightmare to drive on wet roads (went sideways a few times )

I've had a few Citroëns - a CX Series 1 Prestige, a Series 2 GTi Turbo and a CX 22 TRS. But the car I've always kept, and now had for 20 years is my 1973 Citroën DS23 Pallas EFI. It was the first car I bought when I passed my test - I figured that if I was going to pollute the world, I should do it in style

* VW
* Lincoln Towncar . in the highway it makes you feel you are in your living room.
* Toyota . makes you feel you are driving a car.
* Chevy Caprice special edition. (My favorite).
* Currently I am carless. Last time I was visiting a friend in 116th. Str. Not finding a parking spot I had to drive to the west side and take a taxi! Crazy driving in NY.

* VW Golf 2 - my first car. It was allready 15 years old when i bought, but it was fun and overpowered (90hp)
* Suzuki Vitara - uncomfortable and underpowered. But with 4 wheel mode and you could totaly remove the roof
* VW Lupo - got this for free from my sister and loved it. It needed nearly no gas. But it was too small when i started a family so now i have:
* Renault Kangoo - mixed feelings. Realy not sexy and underpowered and needs too much gas. But tons of space, comfortable and sliding door. Plus a lot cheaper than comparable cars.

I've driven fast V6 Fords for the last 45 years or more, several Capris, two Sierra4x4s, and two V6 Mondeos. Sadly V6 engined Ford cars are no longer available in the UK but luckily my current 12 year old last of the V6 3.0 litre Mondeo models is low mileage and in great bodywork condition so I've had it underside cleaned and wax injected so I'm driving that for the foreseeable future. A really great fast Ford UK car would be the final Capri 2.8 shell with Sierra 4x4 suspension and transmission and the last Mondeo 3.0 litre V6 engine.

German cars @ the best ;)
Maybe, but not BMW!

My last 2 BMW, 3 Series Touring Diesel, have been a disaster.
The first one after 4 years the single-spillage pump broke, cost 2.000 €, and then I sold it.

The second BMW has broken the turbocharger after 4 years, cost 2.000 €.
A year later the clutch broke, cost 2.000 €.
Two years later again turbocharger and engine damage, sold to a scrap dealer for 1000 €.
I will never buy BMW again! :(

Before the 2 BMW I drove 2 Ford Fiesta and 3 Ford escort, never had problems. :)

my first car was a Fiat Uno 1986 (5 doors, white color, motor i think was 1350 if i remember correctly)
Opinion: it was my first car and i was 18 so any car with 4 wheels would fill awesome

my second car was a Mitsubishi colt (red, cant remember the year)
Opinion: good car to crash it into the wall.

my 3rd was a toyota celica (red)
Opinion: nice racing car

my 4th was a honda prelude 2.0l.
Opinion: nice sportcar but very small inside

my 5th was a bmw 320
Opinion: i like the ride of the BMW, comfortable and high quality

my 6th car was again a Honda Prelude
Opinion: this prelude was a much better looking and it was from a 1st hand guy so was kept very well

my 7th car was a bmw 325 coupe (196 ps)
Opinion: i like bmw and it was a fast car

my 8th car was a bmw 320
Opinion: i like bmw

my 9th car was a Mazda MX5
Opinion: its like a toyota celica (nice sportcar and cheap)

my 10th car was a VW golf
Opinion: 4 of 10 points.

my 11th car was a mitsubishi Lancer 2008, 1.6l
Opinion: good car and cheap

my 12th car (and my current car) is a Toyota Verso 1.8l (its a new car i bought few month ago so its 2017 car)
Opinion: its a good car, drives well, for 7 people its small but for 5 is very good. i have 4 kids, so i have enough room for now.

I've had a few car myself...

First car I drove was a VW beetle '93 I think, 1300cc
Then My father bought a Renault Clio 1.2, nice car, no assisted steering
Then my First car, a Renault Clio (business) 1.9
Then it broke down, I got a Kangoo, also Renault, same engine as the Clio
Got myself a personal car, a Opel (Vauxal over the canal) 1.4 16v
then came a Ford Mondeo 1.4 16v
a Seat Ibiza 1.4 16v
previous 3 got second hand
then bought a 0km Toyota Corolla Verso
then mooved to france and bought a 200k KM BMW 530D(E39)
lasted 2 years, now I have a Kia Carens( 0Km)

The best cars I had were the Opel, The Toyota and the BMW

Started with a Mazda 323 Sport 1500cc, then an UNO pacer 1400. After wrecking that (damn skinny tyres) had an Opel Corsa 1600 sport, followed by an Opel Astra Estate (station wagon), and now an Opel Corsa Lite 1400cc.

Work Cars
Uno 1100cc
Ford Tracer
Opel Corsa Pickup ( what we in South Africa call a bakkie)
Had a BMW Z3 as a loan car for about 3 weeks. Thing felt like driving a go kart!

Best was the Astra by far

First car was a

Citroen Visa, 652cc air cooled version.

Citroen AX 1.1 TRS (I think)

Vauxhall Nova 1.2, hatchback

Peugeot 306 DTurbo (5 door)

Ginetta G27 (started out as a 2.0 litre Pinto then turned in to a 1.8 litre Zetec)

Ginetta G20 - race car

Peugeot 307SW (worst car ever!)

Peugeot 407SW (2nd worst car ever!!)

SEAT Exeo (basically a parts bin special where Seat were allowed to pick and choose all the Audi A4 bits they wanted)

The Exeo is an excellent car, if a little dull. The Ginettas (British kit/small car manufacturer) were great fun, the Citroen Visa was good fun and the 306 DTurbo was quick and economical.

I'm still looking for another G27... They don't come up very often or are outrageously priced. They aren't made any more. :( Ginetta make closed roof sportscars now, very little if any for the road.

I'd happily get another 306 again - but suspect some of the shine may have gone.
