I've suggested this before, so I found a master programmer who had 20 years of BASIC programmming expericence and has written books on the subject. The below book I read and is top notch (I have read several books on VB and this is a easy one to learn from). Here's a suggestion to contact about getting a professional book made about b4a. Only Erel can do this. I did send him an email about this, but really this has to go through Erel. I cant even figure out how to get a database going to finsih a program i wrote.

Can those of us that purchased the ebook get the new version? I tried to follow the link in the email I got 2 days ago when I bought it but it just takes me to the store to purchase it.

Thanks very much for pointing this out.
It is, of course, very easy to steal ebooks, but it means that the hard work of the author does not get rewarded and the thieves who copy it will not get the free updates, or get the low-price upgrades to the paperback version.

I also think that Klaus's two books are wonderful and very useful. And best of all they are free! However they do not provide a complete source of reference for Basic4android, so the developer must repeatedly search through the website to find many of the missing details.

On the other hand the book by Wyken Seagrave, as well as providing an introduction to the IDE and a primer for how to design, debug and sell an app, brings together a wide range of information including complete references to the language, core objects, standard libraries and other features which makes it a valuable single point of reference for all developers, both beginners and experts.

I do want to buy that book but I could not access the link from B4A website. So could you please suggest me a workable link to buy ?

I just wanted to add that I did purchase this book in electronic form after checking with the author about a new edition coming out later this year. If you buy the electronic version now, you will get a FREE update to the new version when it comes out. So if you were thinking about buying the book but were worried it was a little outdated, your worries are now gone. Buy the book as it is well written and full of great info, and the update is FREE. What have you got to lose. And quick response from the author on the website too!

Penny Press is preparing a new edition of the book which will cover B4A 4.00. Planned publishing date June 2015 but could be sooner.
As schemer said, all purchasers of earlier ELECTRONIC editions will be able to download the new edition free, as we will update both the Penny Press store site (http://bit.ly/1tdlYhP) and the Kindle store version.
We will also offer discount on the paperback version of the new book to those who who purchased the original paperback.

We've actually finished the text of the book covering version 4.3, but we decided to hang on because Erel is planning to bring out another version fairly soon.
However, not wishing to make you too anxious, we've decided to issue the book now and then update it when the new version is available.

We'll prepare the book for publication this week and it should be available maybe next week.
Hope that is satisfactory...

Wow! Yes, that is "more than" satisfactory. I understand the waiting to send to print until the B4A updates are ready, but the electronic version can surely be read in the meantime.

Great news on the book being released. One problem, I don't know the procedure to download the new book, using my old links from purchasing the previous electronic version. If I use those links I can just download the version I already have. Can you explain the correct procedure to get the new book?

I have now replaced the original files with the new ones, so if you download the file from the original place you should get the new version.
