Android Question Compare colors

Hello, I want to compare two colors and find the darker one. How can I do this?

One idea, having a look at this thread Getting the Contrast color.
With the ContrastColor routine you could ckeck the a value, the darker darker color is the color with the higher a value.

I use HSL a lot so I'd convert to that and look at the L (lightness) value
