Using 32-bit architecture gives better compatibility for .Net framework 4.52
From Google:
This notice occurs because the WineHQ repository structured its package paths differently for Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon). The repository file is requesting both 64-bit (
amd64) and 32-bit
(i386) package listings, but the
resolute folder on WineHQ's servers only hosts the 64-bit architecture index explicitly (with 32-bit components bundled dynamically inside the main archive, rather than having a separate
binary-i386 path). [1] (

To remove this warning and allow apt update to complete seamlessly,
restrict the repository to search only for 64-bit architectures.
The Solution: Restrict the Wine Repository to AMD64
Depending on how the WineHQ repository was added to the system, update it using one of the two methods below.
Method A: If using the modern .sources
file (Recommended)
Ubuntu Noble and Resolute use the newer DEB822
.sources format for external repositories.
1. Open the WineHQ source configuration file in a terminal
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq-resolute.sources
Use code with caution.
2. Locate the line starting with
Architectures: and modify it to include
only amd64. If the line does not exist, add it:
X-Reponame: WineHQ
Types: deb
URIs: https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu
Suites: resolute
Components: main
Architectures: amd64
Signed-By: /etc/apt/keyrings/winehq-archive.key
Use code with caution.
3. Save the file (Ctrl+O, Enter) and exit (Ctrl+X).
Method B: If using the legacy .list
file
If the upgrade carried over an older style
.list file configuration:
1. Open the file:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list
Use code with caution.
2. Modify the line to include
[arch=amd64] explicitly right after deb:
deb [arch=amd64 signed-by=/etc/apt/keyrings/winehq-archive.key] https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu resolute main
Use code with caution.
3. Save and exit the editor.
Refresh Your Package Lists
Once the file is saved, update the package manager index to clear the warning:
Use code with caution.
(Note:
Restricting this to amd64
will not break 32-bit Wine functionality.
64-bit Wine installs multi-architecture dependencies directly from standard Ubuntu repositories, allowing 32-bit Windows apps or .NET environments to run normally).
