Android Question Read calls

Hello
Is it possible to read calls?
I want to read the number and search for info for this number in a database and show the info simultanusly with the call number.

It was possible in the past to read the call logs. However things have changed: SMS and CALL_LOG permissions are no longer available

You can still use PhoneEvents to intercept the phone state changed intent and get the calling phone number. However it will require having a foreground service.
