Web transmission during b4a installation

During installation of b4a (the latest 4.2 version) I noticed very high outgoing web transfer rate (megabytes).
I had followed the installation instructions to the letter and nothing else was running on the PC.
The installation itself took a fair time - I didn't time it but it was long enough to make coffee, chat to my wife, etc.
Should we expect high outgoing traffic during installation and if so can you tell me what was being transmitted?

Are you running Windows 8?

By default i found Windows 8 didn't install the version 3.5 .NET framework (when originally installing Windows 8), instead version 4.0 .NET framework was installed.

I can't remember if i manually installed version 3.5 .NET framework when i installed B4A or whether Windows automatically installed 3.5.
Then there was a few (many MBs) official version 3.5 .NET framework updates that needed to be downloaded and installed.

Could it have been the 3.5 framework being installed and updated?

Martin.

Thanks for replies. I'm using Win7.
I suspect that it was a Microsoft wierdy... I'd run a bunch of Win updates shortly before doing the install & now suspect it was something to do with that.
Have run antivirus checks & checked out event logs... Nothing seems to be wrong... changed all my passwords just in case.
Thanks for the help... now back to the programming.
