Adobe Photoshop! :)

By the way, Photoshop CS2 is now kinda legal and free.

Please read before downloading:

Note that, despite its age, this Photoshop version will absolutely cover all of your needs in terms of app development.
You'll be able to create very professional and pixel-perfect graphics with ease.

Once you go Photoshop, you never go back! ;)

Adobe should pay me for this...

Right, it's been free for ages but it's missing a lot compared to CS6 and you'll get a lot of files where content gets rasterized becaused it can't deal with it.

but for the regular copy, paste, crop and alot of other nifty stuff it's more than enough as you mentioned. (pretty costly gift :) )

if you work with designers you might get what I mentioned above even with CS6 as they might use CC.

I agree, CC is incredible and it has some really nice features. I'm even using it to create/export 3D models to the Unreal Engine 4. :)

Nice that you mentioned DP. I did some digging and it seems it went up to DP V(5) on amiga.

Strange that DP II on pc was released in 1988 and it kept stuck on v2 till the last update (II enhanced 2.0) in 1994.
