Android Question No drag'n copy in the IDE?

After only playing with B4A for a few days after dropping Android development in 2013 when B4A was at version 3.00 I'm very impressed by the ease of use. It's come a long way!

However there is a glaring omission in the IDE editor, to me at least. It has become so automatic to copy text in Visual Studio and Basic4ppc by selecting it and then dragging it with the Control key pressed that I am sorely missing it in B4A and I haven't even started programming in anger yet.

Is there a reason for its non-implementation? As dragging a selection is implemented it would seem that implementing copy and drag would be trivial.

I do not know what you mean, since I never drag text (perhaps, rarely, between two softwares).

However you can duplicate a line of code, by pressing CTRL+D and dragging a line pressing Alt + an arrow key (up or down)

overhere the dragging seems to work to move a block around.

it's not placing a copy at the new location tho.

I re-read @agraham 's post again and the copying which he refers to by holding CTRL + dragging still seems to work here aswell.

Welcome back by the way :)

agraham,

I figured it out why it doesn't seem to work for you...

pressing CTRL before the dragging enables the clicking on variables/subs mode.

if you drag and then press CTRL it works as you want.
