iOS Question What do I need for iOS development ?

Hi,

I would be interested in looking into iOS development.

What would the minimum Apple hardward I would need ?

- an iOS VM or a Mac Mini ?
- an emulator WITHOUT an Apple Dev Account: just for testing / development

Is this correct ?

Yes, but don't buy those horrible "new" mac minis, they benchmark MUCH MUCH less than the previous (2012) models, including worse internals. Refurb is the way to go, especially for a quad core.

The new Mac mini will be more than powerful enough to act as a remote compiler.

Erel, a question for you that I don't think I've seen in other threads.
As a Mac is still required to develop with B4i, have you considered to port the B4i IDE to run natively on a Mac?
It looks redundant to me to need 2 computers running to develop on a third device...

Customers without a Mac will be able to compile with the hosted Mac cloud instead. It will not be a free service, however the price of this service will be relatively low.

There might be a native Mac IDE in the future.

You can use an enterprise account. It will allow you to distribute your applications to many devices.
